my story

I am an adventurous, fun-loving world traveler who worked on a fishing boat in Alaska one summer. I speak a little Spanish, Norwegian and French, and can maybe say one sentence in Mandarin. Also, I love to ski!

I came to user experience design and research after a childhood of MadLibs and an early adult career in healthcare.

I am currently working toward my MS in Human Factors in Information Design at Bentley University.

how I got started in user experience design

I grew up living between Norway and Oklahoma. I also grew up with a sibling with accessibility needs. These environments set me up to have a naturally high level of empathy.

I always loved art and languages, but I also loved and excelled at math and science. After some time working as a healthcare provider, I determined I needed a career that utilized more creativity. After a couple of years of research, I found user experience design.

what I've been working on

I have had the honor of learning from some of the smartest designers, researchers and accessibility engineers around, both at work and in school. I have many up-to-date projects I can discuss, including research and design involving AI. I will update them here as I am able.

what I'm curious about

I'm enjoying learning about sustainability in my spare time and what are some effective paths to carbon neutrality. I'm interested in the role every designer can play in mitigating climate change.

I'm also really curious about the effect of digital design on public health and the responsibility all designers shoulder to first do no harm in the evolving realm of digital human interfacing.
